Jonathan began his career as a temporary archaeologist on the Inyo National Forest, then worked in recreation, special uses and winter sports on the San Bernardino and Inyo National Forests, the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and temporary details with the Pacific Southwest Regional Office. Prior to joining the Tahoe National Forest, Jonathan served as National Recreation Special Uses Program Manager for the Washington D.C. office with a focus on modernizing permitting, improving outfitting and guiding access to National Forest System lands and collaborating with state and local government to enhance public services.


Jonathan earned his B.A. in anthropology from UCSD and M.S. in resource management from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
